Hello, My name is Lucile Bates, and I was on the"web" looking for some information on Saxophone repairs(my son Roy is taking lessons), and I came across your page. Boy does this bring me back. I should explain. I was a HUGE Thompson Twins fan when I was in High School, and my boyfriend Blaine(now my husband) had their song "Hold Me Now" dedicated to me at our prom. It was a magical evening! We were fortunate enough to see the "T. Twins" in concert 14 times between 1983-1986! So when I saw your wonderful tribute to my(our!) favorite group, I was immediately taken back to that special night when Blaine proposed to me. My father Harry Dean Stanton was against the marriage at first, but my best friend Duck-man set him straight. Thank you very much for the memories, Mr. Le Cram! Very Sincerely, Lucile Ringwald-Bates
Why where they named the Thompson Twins? None of the was named "Thompson," and there's three of them! Should they be at least the Thompson Triplets? But then, they don't even look alike, even if they were fraternal triplets, rather than identical triplets. Plus, they're all different ages! This is silly!

Anonymous. It appears that your suspicions that The Thompson Twins are not actually twins are correct. Our research has uncovered that the band name is taken from characters from Herge's comic book series "The Adventures of Tintin". The characters that were the inspiration for the band were a pair of idiodic and buffoonish detectives named Thompson & Thompson. The pair are identical except for the shape of their mustaches. We hope that this clears up any confusion that this post may have caused you.
No one ever got back to me about whether another ARK II convention is going to happen any time soon. I found out about the last one too late. I read that the monkey that played "Adam" was there in person(or is that in monkey?) signing autographs. That really pisses me off. Adam was my favorite character on the whole GD show. I would have had him sign my ARK II memories book. Oh well. Can someone let me know if there will be another ARK II meet?
Thank you, Le Cram, for explaning things about the origin of the name, "The Thompson Twins." However, this still doesn't really make sense--and this isn't your fault, Le Cram--because in Tintin, there was a man named Thompson, and a man named Thomson. These are not the same name, and so to put them together as if they were the "Thompson Twins" does such a disservice to the man named Thomson. Afterall, why didn't the Thompson Twins choose the "Thomson Twins" instead? Or maybe they could have switched off, back and forth. And this still doesn't explain the third person in the group. Is he to be left out completely and ignored in the band's name? This see so unfair!
Okay. Again you make some good points. I will ask the Le Cram research staff to "dig a little deeper". I think we can get to the bottom of this, but it will require some all night research sessions. I'll have to find just the right people to "figure this out". In the meantime, please enjoy some of our Chuck Mangione posts!
