Le Cram's homework assignment.

Your assignment is to check out how kickass Richard Widmark is.

A good place to start is with these films: "Kiss of Death"(1947), "Road House"(1948), and "Pickup on South Street"(1953).

Write a report about what you think makes Richard Widmark so awesome.

Le Cram will evaluate the the submissions, and the best one will be published on the site.

You're welcome!

  1. There isn't a scarier villain in all of film than Tommy Udo:

"You and me and your wife...We're all gonna play together."

"You leave my family alone, Tommy!"

"Whattaya mean? Kids like to have fun...."

Also, Widmark was awesome in Judgment at Nuremberg. And don't forget Night and the City and that Elia Kazan movie about him trying to stop Bubonic Plague. The name escapes me right now....

  3. I just like Richard Widmark is all. Strange thing is, I was about to do something similar on Robert Ryan, but now I shall not. Will watch Pickup on South Street.

  7. Thanks, Le Cram, for spotting that I Love Lucy reference. I love Lucy! She was a genius, and so was that show, and Richard Widmark was great to share his grapefruits like that...what a good sport. And, sorry, this guy (known as "That Guy") is not that guy (known as "This Guy").
