Draw your favorite "The Black Hole" character contest results!

Wow. Has it already been a week since our draw your favorite "The Black Hole" character contest was announced(see blog post dated March 15, 2010)? Well, dozens of youngsters sent in drawings, and the Le Cram's staff narrowed it down to the best three! Are you ready? Coming in third is little Tim Eschmeyer, age 9, with his rendition of "Maximillian"

First of all, the character's name is "Maximillian", not "Maximillion". Got that Einstein? Also, why is there a "Van Halen" logo on the picture? What does that have to do with anything? And finally, those balloon letters are something a girl would do. Are you a girl Tim? In the interest of time Le Cram isn't going to ask you why you put a peace symbol and whatever that other thing is on there.

Next, in second place we have "V.I.N.CENT", by Tommy Baker, age 6.

I don't know where to begin here Tommy. Were you blindfolded when you drew this? No? Did you draw with your left hand even though you are right handed? No? Why does it look so shaky? I think maybe you're 600, not 6. Anyway, congratulations on getting second prize!

And finally... Taking first prize we have Master David Milano, age 28, and his drawing of "Old B.O.B."

Actually, Le Cram doesn't have too many complaints about this one. The scale is a bit off, and you could have cleaned up some of the eraser smudges, but over all you did some pretty acceptable work. Although next to these other Rembrandts, just about anything would look good!

This final drawing we had to disqualify for not following the rules of the contest, but we feel obligated to show it since it was the official entry from our associate blog "chonsense"(see the Saxophone list at left for more info).

Chonsense's "This Guy" and Le Cram went back and fourth in the comment section of part one of this post(see blog entry dated March 15, 2010) regarding whether "MCP" from "Tron", is a character in "The Black Hole". Well This guy. "MCP" is still not a character in "The Black Hole", and entering this picture in the contest doesn't change that fact! Anyone can look it up. Have you even seen "The Black Hole"? Thanks for wasting everyone's time, Jackass!

Le Cram would like to thank everyone that took the time to draw and send in a picture. And to all of you that entered a losing picture, there's always next time!

Sincerely,
Le Cram

What makes an Editor tick?

Le Cram would like to encourage everyone to check out a fascinating interview with Jeff Chon, the editor of the literary journal "vis a tergo"(and chonsense's "This Guy"). The interview is on a Le Cramtastic site called "six questions for..."

Here's the link:

If vis a tergo sounds familiar, it might be because they had the good taste to publish some of Le Cram's comics in the past, which maybe some of you may have seen.
