Ernest Borgnine 1917 – 2012

Le Cram heard the sad news from Chonguy that one of our favorite actors had passed, the Great Ernest Borgnine. Le Cram has enjoyed Mr. Bornine in many roles, but one film in particular is very close to Le Cram's heart. Ernest Borgnine as Harry Booth in "The Black Hole" from Walt Disney Productions in 1979. This is one of Le Cram's favorite childhood films, but Le Cram still loves it very much as an adult. It's arguably the most important Sci-Fi film of all time.
If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor. It was put out on DVD a few years ago in a beautifully restored wide screen print. Another great thing about the "Black Hole" is that it resulted in two different Ernest Borgnine action figures!!! A small one similar in size to the "Star Wars" and "Adventure People" figures that were popular at the time. Lets take a look at the small one first.
And next the larger size figure that was comparable in size to the "Mego" brand figures. Le Cram thinks they were about 10-12 inches in height.
Le Cram had the smaller size figures. They were good toys but the hands all snapped off. You will be missed Ernest Borgnine.

  1. What! You're back, and you didn't even tell me?...I, who have been faithfully posting my little comments and good wishes every now and then, and who always sighed sadly when you and no one else ever responded. Sheesh! I'm very hurt. P.S. - Mr. Borgnine will be deeply missed. Who knew he made such a nice action figure?!

  2. nice turtleneck. love his turtleneck. turtleneck's are the best fashion invention...ever...keeping the jugular warm is very important...blood vessels and veins all connect...the veins are nothing more than tributaries...organs are river banks...the body is one big kharmic cesspool...

Le Cram likes your response because it's like a nice poem.
